Andrew Day - Owner and Engineer
D.B. Electro‑Mechanical LLC is led by Andrew Day, an industrial electrician and electro-mechanical engineer with more than a decade of hands‑on experience solving complex electrical, mechanical, and automation problems across manufacturing, chemical processing, steel production, and critical‑infrastructure environments.
Andrew built his career inside high‑demand industrial facilities where downtime is measured in thousands of dollars per minute. His background includes troubleshooting PLC‑based systems, repairing motor control centers, rebuilding pumps, calibrating instrumentation, and restoring production equipment under pressure. He has worked across every level of plant electrical infrastructure — from substations and feeders to branch circuits, MCCs, and field devices.
Before founding D.B. Electro‑Mechanical Andrew spent eight years working as a traveling contractor across a massive footprint of heavy industries. Following his time on the road, he transitioned into an in-house industrial maintenance and electrician role. While maintaining plant operations, troubleshooting automation systems, and executing root-cause analysis to drive long-term reliability improvements, Andrew went back to school to formalize his expertise, earning his degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology. This unique combination of a decade on the tools and a rigorous engineering education gives him an unmatched perspective on industrial infrastructure
Andrew holds a B.S. in Electro‑Mechanical Engineering Technology (ABET accredited) from Miami University and has graduated from two trade schools and holds a NEC compliant journeyman license. His academic work spans industrial automation, digital and analog electronics, signal conditioning, robotics, motor controls, power distribution, and embedded systems — blending engineering theory with real‑world application.
He maintains a wide range of professional certifications, including OSHA 10/30, confined‑space training, journeyman‑level electrical qualifications, NDT Level I & II, rigging certifications, and IEEE membership.
Today, D.B. Electro‑Mechanical LLC provides industrial electrical maintenance, controls engineering, troubleshooting, and field service work throughout the Cincinnati region. Whether it’s designing a control panel, integrating sensors, rebuilding obsolete industrial machinery, or restoring a production line to service, Andrew brings the same determination, precision, and reliability that have defined his entire career.
